HOW IT WORKS

LetterQuick is a customer service-oriented company that works with prisons on your behalf to deliver letters to inmates – quickly. We are a niche team that specializes in working with prisons belonging to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR). We are extremely familiar with the California prison system, and we do our best to use this knowledge to the benefit of our customers.

We believe strongly in the rehabilitative power of communication between inmates and their loved ones.

Using LetterQuick is simple:

Step 1: Identify whether we provide service to the prison that you are writing to. A full list of supported facilities can be found below.

Step 2: Create an account on our website, and purchase credits (see Pricing for price details). Spend credits by sending a letter.

Step 3: We’ll send your letter to the prison mailroom, where it will be inspected by prison staff and passed along to your recipient. Depending on the delivery method available, we will print your letter directly inside the prison mailroom using one of our printers, or we will mail your letter to the prison through the US Postal Service.

Why use LetterQuick?

  1. We are a fast, convenient alternative to sending letters through the US Postal Service. Sending a letter through LetterQuick is just as convenient as sending an email.
  2. We provide a delivery guarantee. If your letter does not arrive, we’ll send another copy, or issue a refund.
  3. Our detailed order form will walk you through every step of the process. We will help you craft your letter so that it is in compliance with the CDCR’s requirements.
  4. Your patronage supports a local small business that is working hard on your behalf to modernize the delivery of mail to inmates in California.
Availability

LetterQuick currently has printers inside two California prisons. If your recipient is located at one of these facilities, we will print your letter directly inside their mailroom. Since letters are transferred to the control of prison staff and are subject to an inspection process, we can’t guarantee a delivery speed – but most letters are delivered the same day they are sent, or the next business day.

Facilities that support our instant mailroom delivery service are: Calipatria State Prison, Centinela State Prison.

Pilot Program
LetterQuick’s instant mailroom delivery service at Calipatria and Centinela State Prisons is part of a temporary pilot program authorized by the CDCR. We are doing our best to ensure LetterQuick remains available at these facilities, however we cannot guarantee the long-term availability of our instant delivery service at this time.

If your recipient is located at a prison not listed above, but that prison belongs to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, we’ll still send your letter. However, it will not benefit from our fastest delivery speeds. It will be mailed through the US Postal Service from Fresno, California as First Class mail. First Class mail can take up to 2-3 days to arrive, and then your letter will need to be inspected by the mailroom. Delivery to your recipient is likely to take 4-7 days or more.
